The Study of the 12 Trtibes of Israel

Back Ground

In order to understand anything we first must start from the beginning and work our way forward; unlocking the keys to grasp the whole picture.

The Beginning

This material will be based on several things to tie a lot of things together, that might have been hindering us as Christians to grow to our potential. You see there are keys in the word of God that must be understood. To receive the total blessing of the promises we must be incompliance of God's revelation for man. I found the best way to do that is to study the tribes. Fore which will enhance our understanding of the Old Testament, and exactly how things connected to the New Testament.  And most of all give us better understanding of the Savoir our Lord Jesus Christ, through understanding His character.

We will look at the four major characteristics of our Lord. To see how His perfection of the traits that combined together outlined the characteristic fore which the tribes possessed. Each trait is a key in our understanding of a closer walk with Christ. As we see the riches in getting closer to the perfect character of Christ Jesus in our daily life. To enhance our life in such a way that we can have victory in areas were we struggle. Not saying we are going to be perfect here on earth, but we can strive to be better each day. We will also decipher some keys which will unlock and give clarity in some things in the New Testament. That will enrich our lives forever! God Bless You! Let’s get started.

Tabernacle in the Wilderness

This is a picture of how the tabernacle was set up in the wilderness. As the children of Egypt travel in the desert for forty years, this is very important, you will see in this material it will show the four sides, fore which the tribes had to set up. The tribes gathered under separate standards, but clustered in groups of threes under each standard. Each had a particular job to do and each with a particular trait that forged their character through trail and fire. That gives their signature in growth of the traits that they possessed. To better understand the gifts of God that each of us are given. Within each tribe we will see the unfolding of ourselves and the development of our very own character. God has a wonderful plan to enrich our lives by giving us a diagram of ourselves in the written word. We as followers just need to be in tune with it and see it with our spiritual eye.

You will be able to see the different stages of the traits, here in this material. As well as see how it grew and then watches the perfecting process of the traits, in everyday walking with Christ Jesus, in our daily growth. You see as each tribe took to their path, God molded them by way of fire and transformed them into His Glory. In that we will see that God is still molding us into His Glory and that gives us hope in the Body of Christ. This is most exciting because it gives us a chance to look at ourselves and see where we are in the journey of developing our traits. As well as the riches in growing in that area, for which God will reveal all that is needed for growth.

East Side of the Tabernacle: The Flag of the Loin

The East side represented three tribes, The Bible says: “Every man of the children of Israel shall pitch by his own standard, with the ensign of their father’s house: far off about the tabernacle of the congregation shall they pitch. And on the east side toward the rising of the sun shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah pitch throughout their armies and Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be captain of the children of Judah. And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred. And those that do pitch next unto him shall be the tribe of Issachar: and Nethaneel the son of Zuar shall be captain of the children of Issachar. And his host, and those that were numbered thereof, were fifty and four thousand and four hundred. Then the tribe of Zebulun: and Eliab the son of Helon shall be captain of the children of Zebulun. And his host, and those that were numbered thereof, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred. All that were numbered in the camp of Judah were an hundred thousand and fourscore thousand and six thousand and four hundred, throughout their armies. These shall first set forth.” (Numbers 2:3-9). These three tribes, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun flew under the same standard, but each had there own separate symbols. There symbols and there blessing which were given by Jacob (Israel) and then again by Moses, that fore which God reveal hidden information about their traits for their individual characters. Fore which we will look at each tribe separately. So we as the body of Christ can enjoy the full enrich word of God and the application of His word in our daily walk. As we watch how God molded their traits to develop their characters to do the will of God.

Now remember I also told you that we will also connect the old with the new. You see not only did the standard represent the groups, but it also represented some particular revelations within the New Testament, that the apostles seems to be in tune with as they are chosen to write their individual writings. You see the Apostle Mathew wrote about Jesus the King, that His very present represented royalty and ruler ship over all, in all parts mind, body, spirit, to give complete victory in our lives. The Bible says; “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus, Who being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation and took upon him the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient unto death even of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name.” (Philippians 2: 5-9)

We as followers of Christ Jesus should have that same power to command the forces against us with our very presence. Because "he that is greater in you than he that is in the world". (Body-Loin-Mathew-Jesus the King) Remember in God’s word there are neither mistakes nor anything by chance. God gave unto us His perfect word to guide us as well as teach us about us. We just have to be open to the teaching of the Holy Spirit and receive the Blessing of God’s revelation.

The West Side of the Tabernacle: The Flag of the Ox

The west side of the tabernacle represented the three tribes, The Bible says: “On the west side shall be the standard of the camp of Ephraim according to their armies: and the captain of the sons of Ephraim shall be Elishama the son of Ammihud. And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty thousand and five hundred. And by him shall be the tribe of Manasseh: and the captain of the children of Manasseh shall be Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur. And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were thirty and two thousand and two hundred. Then the tribe of Benjamin: and the captain of the sons of Benjamin shall be Abidan the son of Gideoni. And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were thirty and five thousand and four hundred. All that were numbered of the camp of Ephraim were an hundred thousand and eight thousand and an hundred, throughout their armies. And they shall go forward in the third rank.” (Numbers 2:18-24)  Ephraim, Manasseh and Benjamin, remember they just flew under the same standard, but had different symbols as well as different traits which we will look at separately. These three are special in there positioning, as well as in there gifts. Which everything in God's plan has a position fore which we as Christians need to follow, and remember that there is strength in God's Devine Positioning!

Remember the Ox is the standard and not only represent a standard but the heart of Jesus mind set to have the compassion to want to serve and help others even those that hated Him, just as us as followers want to be the workers of Christ. The harvest is plenty but the workers are few. The Apostle Mark wrote about Jesus the Servant. (Heart-Ox-Mark-Jesus the Servant) It was as if God wanted us at this time to focus on a particular part of Christ Jesus character that is vital for the edifying of the body of Christ. The Apostle Mark focus on this particular characteristic of Christ Jesus character to give us a look at not only the perfection of the characteristic in Christ Jesus. But also an example for us to see how far we are from being perfect. To keep us aware of the constant work that is needed to be done in our selves so we have no time to point at no one else.

The South side of the Tabernacle: the Flag of the Man

The south side of the tabernacle represented the three tribes, The Bible says: On the south side shall be the standard of the camp of Reuben according to their armies: and the captain of the children of Reuben shall be Elizur the son of Shedeur. And his host, and those that were numbered thereof, were forty and six thousand and five hundred. And those which pitch by him shall be the tribe of Simeon: and the captain of the children of Simeon shall be Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai. And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred. Then the tribe of Gad: and the captain of the sons of Gad shall be Eliasaph the son of Reuel. And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty and five thousand and six hundred and fifty. All that were numbered in the camp of Reuben were an hundred thousand and fifty and one thousand and four hundred and fifty, throughout their armies. And they shall set forth in the second rank. (Numbers 2:10-16) Ruben, Simeon, and Gad, like all the rest flew under the same standard but each carried there own symbol and as well their own traits. These particular tribes hit closer to home for me, because they showed a humanity side. Traits which are a given to everyone but not everyone develops them. You will see the difficulties that these tribes had because, of the trails and tribulations that came upon them to develop there inheritance of their special traits. (If you notice I did not go in that particular order for which the scriptures is written. This has no particular meaning just the developing of the material this form was best.)

We will also get a better understanding of the writings of the Apostle Luke, which took the gospel to a whole new level for me because he got personnel with it. Writing a letter and giving accurate account of Christ Jesus as a man to a friend, witnessing. He personalized a letter to his friend most excellent Theophilus, which showed the emotional struggles. As well as the pain and the joy and the love of Christ, which Christ perfected the character of a Christian daily walk, while going through trails of every day life. Regardless of the situation and circumstances we should always represent Christ. For me, I have an extremely hard time with, fore which I pray for better understanding and application of God's word in my life daily. This can only be done by keeping our minds focus on Christ Jesus at all times. (Mind-Man-Luke-Jesus the Man) The Apostle Luke seems to be so focus on giving the account of Christ Jesus to a friend that his entire gospel is just that. A personal witnessing to a friend fore which you and I was commanded by God to do, be His witness of the death, burial, and resurrection and the saving grace of Christ Jesus.

The North side of the Tabernacle: the Flag of the Eagle

The north side of the tabernacle housed the three tribes, The Bible says: The standard of the camp of Dan shall be on the north side by their armies: and the captain of the children of Dan shall be Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai. And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were threescore and two thousand and seven hundred. And those that encamp by him shall be the tribe of Asher: and the captain of the children of Asher shall be Pagiel the son of Ocran. And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were forty and one thousand and five hundred. Then the tribe of Naphtali: and the captain of the children of Naphtali shall be Ahira the son of Enan. And his host, and those that were numbered of them, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred. All they that were numbered in the camp of Dan were an hundred thousand and fifty and seven thousand and six hundred. They shall go hindmost with their standards.(Numbers 2:25-31) Dan, Asher and Naphtali, as the others flew under the same standard but had different symbols as well as blessings and traits. This particular group will give you great understanding of faith as well as natural understanding of life. If we are three part beings, mind, body and spirit. It must be an interesting fact that the mind controls the body, but what controls the mind? The Spirit controls the mind; what ever possesses your spirit controls you. In this we see the raw beauty of Christ Jesus.

You see the Apostle John being the last writer, but the one recording things for which know other could see because of the place in which he look. There is no Jew nor Greek nor black or White there is just souls that are either found or lost. If the world adapt to the understanding of Christ Jesus principles, as well as characteristics there would be no need for so many jails, or laws, nor hunger because we as many nations could do all things through Christ that strengthen us. The Apostle John wrote about the Spirit of Christ Jesus mind set like no other could have. (Spirit-Eagle-John-Jesus the Son of God) The Apostle John as well as the rest recorded their particular gospel being lead by the spirit of God. In that we know that God is complete and in the inspiring of the word it also is complete. So each writer particular writing was complete in showing that characteristic in every area mind, body, and spirit. Giving us a deeper look into the revelation of God’s word, bring the foretelling of the coming of the Old to the revelation of the New.

This revelation that God has for us is to give us an enrich blessing as we live day to day in the body of Christ. It gives us understanding about ourselves as well as tools to arm ourselves against the enemy. We are given the word of God for studying to increase God in us so that others can see and ask the immortal words “what must I do to be saved.” We are the light so here in this material we are going to let God’s revelation shine as we receive the Blessing. We will travel together to find ourselves in the word of God through the fore fathers developing. There is nothing new under the sun we have to realize that our lives have been written for victory. All we have to do is to except it, follow Christ example and receive the revelation.
