Witness Meaning
Witness (Heb. Ed:Gk martys) A person who gives testimony to establish the truth of a charge or statement of fact. The legal requirement for confirming allegations was that there should be two witnesses. The Bible says: “So I turned and came down from the mount, and the mount burned with fire: and the two tables of the covenant were in my two hands.” (Deuteronomy 9:15)
In the Old Testament society giving testimony as a witness was a formal confirmation basis mutual trust in society. Legal documents were signed by witnesses. In case of capitol punishment by means of stoning witnesses were required to throw the first stone. The importance of witnesses for conformation is under scored by the Decagon’s proscription of perjury. The Bible says: “Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.” (Exodus 20:16)
An altar named “Witness” was erected by the tribes of Rueben and Gad to confirm to future generations that they were apart of the people of God. The Bible says: “Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice: But that it may be a witness between us, and you, and our generations after us, that we might do the service of the LORD before him with our burnt offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no part in the LORD.” (Joshua 22: 26-27) Not to be confused with altars for any type of sacrifice, it was a legal and formal attestation to fact knowledge as true by all the people. When all the people under Joshua promised to serve, Yahweh, they become witnesses against themselves that you have chosen for sake their Lord. The Bible says: “And Joshua said unto the people, Ye are witnesses against yourselves that ye have chosen you the LORD, to serve him. And they said, We are witnesses.” (Joshua 24:22) Joshua set a large stone at Shechem as a witness confirming this covenant. The Bible says: “And Joshua said unto all the people, Behold, this stone shall be a witness unto us; for it hath heard all the words of the LORD which he spake unto us: it shall be therefore a witness unto you, lest ye deny your God.” (Joshua 24: 27)
Jesus claimed that the truth of his Messiah ship was witnessed to not by his own testimony alone but by John the Baptist by the miracles by voice of the Father and Moses. The Bible says: “But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved. He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light. But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me. And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape. And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not. Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life. I receive not honour from men. But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you. I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive. How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me; for he wrote of me. But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?” (John 5: 34-47)
The New Testament Apostles were commissioned in a unique way to witness to the truth of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Bible says: “And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. (Act 1: 7-9) This becomes the basic function of the preaching of the apostles and the basic basis of the gospel. The Bible says: “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” (1Corinthians 15:3-4) Everyone who is born of the Spirit witnesses to the truth of Jesus Christ, because he has received the spirit himself bearing witness with our spirit. The Bible says: “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:” (Romans 8:16)
Within the testimony of the spirit of truth witnessing becomes a part of us that is unmistaken of God presence in our lives today by our walk. Witnessing is the Spirit of Truth the Spirit of Christ Jesus in us testifying to the world. The Bible says: “This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.” (Titus 1: 13-16)We know that in order for a righteous testimony or witness the spirit of the Living God has to be present within. The Bible says: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them. We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.” (1John 4: 1-6) We know that the spirit of Christ fills us and in that our witness of born. The telling of the God of Light, Might, Saving Grace, for which we have to tell the World! Paul addresses this issue in his life and stated it so profoundly that sparked me to write this book. Paul was inspired to write: “Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? For it is written in the law of Moses, thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things?” (1Corinthians 9: 8-11) We see here how Paul is addressing what God given him and how the gives it the others, then he say: “Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void. For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!” (1Corinthians 9: 14-16) For within these verses that there is prestige or glamour or anything that we can boast about it is strait from compulsion that we speak. For nothing else can be the true essence of telling the “Good News” than a true heart. Within our heart that is filled with the spirit of Christ Jesus which is an untapped power supply for which never runs out or get short.
We must remember that witness is simply this the telling of Gods amazing grace and what he done for us. With a true heart we must profess this to everyone. Witness is our action from our love of Christ Jesus, because of our love for the Father.
What is the Good News?
The good news is a genre of literature, peculiar to Christianity, about the life of Jesus Christ. The terms specifically used to refer to the four canonical gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
The “Gospel” is derived from As god-spell “good news which accurately translated Gk. Evange’lion Mark used the term to introduce his account to Jesus earthly ministry. The Bible says: “The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;” (Mark 1:1) The term was eventually expanded to include any work which dealt with the same subject the birth, ministry, suffering, death with the same as resurrection of the Messiah. The earliest reference to this term as a type of literature we ca. A.D. 150 by Justin Martyr (Apol, I 66). “the memories….which are called Gospels”
The Gospels cannot be understood as simple records of events. The four canonical Gospels are complex literary works of a high order. None of them are “objective” biographies in the nineteenth-century sense, nor do they follow the tenants of modern historiography. Each of the authors carefully selected and shaped his material with an eye towards both his own understanding of Jesus Christ, and the needs of the community to which he was writing.
Mark for instance, design his gospel to answer the question “Who was Jesus Christ?” The Bible says: “And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.” (Mark 1: 27) Also the Bible says: “Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?” (Mark 2:7)The structure of his gospel is easily analyzed by relating each character or event to this central question. The teachers of the law the Bible says: “But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed? And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. Then the high priest rent his clothes, and saith, What need we any further witnesses? Ye have heard the blasphemy: what think ye? And they all condemned him to be guilty of death. And some began to spit on him, and to cover his face, and to buffet him, and to say unto him, Prophesy: and the servants did strike him with the palms of their hands.” (Mark 14: 61-65) The people of the land not Pilate knew and even the disciples were ignorant until after the fact and even the demons knew from the onset. The Bible says: “And king Herod heard of him; (for his name was spread abroad:) and he said, That John the Baptist was risen from the dead, and therefore mighty works do shew forth themselves in him. Others said, That it is Elias. And others said, That it is a prophet, or as one of the prophets. But when Herod heard thereof, he said, It is John, whom I beheaded: he is risen from the dead.” (Mark 6: 14-16) The Bible also says: “And Pilate asked him, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said unto them, Thou sayest it.” (Mark 15:2) This shows us that even though the “Good News” was standing right their they still did not see it or hear it or understand.
You see the “good News” specifically shows of salvation through Jesus Christ. The Bible says: “Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see: The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.” (Matthew 11: 4-6) Also the Bible says: “Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.” (1Peter 1:12) In classical Greek the term originally designated the reward given to a messenger of good tiding and later came to mean the “good news” itself. The LXX has retained the first meaning, the Bible says: “And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said unto them, As the LORD liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity, When one told me, saying, Behold, Saul is dead, thinking to have brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, who thought that I would have given him a reward for his tidings: How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed? shall I not therefore now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?” (2Samuel 4: 9-11) Also the Bible says: “Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok yet again to Joab, But howsoever, let me, I pray thee, also run after Cushi. And Joab said, Wherefore wilt thou run, my son, seeing that thou hast no tidings ready?” (2 Samuel 18:22) Now the second at another spot, the Bible says: “O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!” (Isaiah 40:9) The Bible also says: “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!” (Isaiah 52:7) The Bibles also says: “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;” (Isaiah 61:1) Attempting to encourage the Jews in their exile, Isaiah predicted that a “herald of good tidings” the Bible says: “O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!” (Isaiah 40:9)Possibly Zion itself would announce that Yahew protect his despondent people. The Bible says: “O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.” (Isaiah 40: 9-11)
That as sovereign He would usher in a new age for His chosen people. The Bible says: “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!” (Isaiah 52:7) The Bible also says: “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.” (Isaiah 61: 1-4) The herald this time the prophet empowered and anointed by the spirit of the Lord proclaimed to the exile that their harsh captivity had finally ended. God’s wish for there was that they returned to Judah to rebuild the ruined city and restore the languishing fields. Though his message contained a note of warning the day of divine vengeance had also arrived on the whole, his words were a welcome comfort to the mourning of Jews.
Among the New Testament authors, Paul most thoroughly treats the nature of the gospel, he uses G.K.(evangel:zesthai) twenty-one times. For Paul, this “good news” was that God had bought salvation through the death of Jesus Christ and independent of the rules and regulation that characterized Judaism. Other writers with the exception of Luke (who used the verb twenty-five times) seldom used the term the Apostle John omits it altogether.
Matthew and Mark preserved the saying of Jesus that the gospel would be preached in the entire world before the end comes. The Bible says: “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” (Matthew 24:14) The Bible also says: “And the gospel must first be published among all nations.” (Mark 13:10) Both also records Jesus promise the women who anointed him that her deed would be remembered as the gospel was proclaimed. The Bible says: “Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.” (Matthew 26:13) The Bible records the Apostle Mark writing as: “She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying. Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world, this also that she hath done shall be spoken of for a memorial of her.” (Mark 14: 8-9) The Apostle Mark further implies that those who spread the gospel risked the laws of their possessions or their lives. The Bible says: “For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.” (Mark 8:35)Also the Bible says: “And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.” (Mark 10: 29-30) The Apostle Luke on the other hand records that Jesus sent his twelve disciples to preach the gospel “the kingdom of God” to the Jewish village. The Bible says: “And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.” (Luke 9: 2, 6) As well Jesus Himself preached “the gospel” in the temple. The Bible says: “ And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders,” (Luke 20:1)
The book of Acts mentions that the Apostle preached the “good news” in many Samaritan villages following their persecution at Jerusalem. The Bible says: “And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.” (Act 8:25) Philip one of the seven deacons, proclaimed the same message from Azotus to Ceasara The Bible says: “But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.” (Act 8:40) At the Apostolic Council, Peter declared that God had sent him to preach the “good news. The Bible says: “And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.” (Act 16:10) The Bible also says: “Furthermore, when I came to Troas to preach Christ's gospel, and a door was opened unto me of the Lord,” (2Corinthians 2:12) As we look further in the word the Apostle Paul, who confessed that he was called to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. The Bible says: “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” (Act 20:24) The Bible also says: “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.” (1Corinthians 1:17)He proclaimed the incarnate, crucified and resurrection of Christ Jesus. The Bible says: “Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:” (Romans 1: 3-4) Who appeared to his followers after His resurrection preaching Christ Jesus in various cities of the Roman Empire. The Bible says: “Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.” (Romans 15:19) Paul stressed that the gospel is God’s power unto salvation for all the believers manifesting the righteousness of God, but veiled to all those who don’t believe. The Bible says: “But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.” (2 Corinthians 4:2-4)
Paul insisted that he preached an untainted gospel “without cost” to the Corinthians. The Bible says: “If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. But I have used none of these things: neither have I written these things, that it should be so done unto me: for it were better for me to die, than that any man should make my glorying void. For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel! For if I do this thing willingly, I have a reward: but if against my will, a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel. For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more. And unto the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain the Jews; to them that are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain them that are under the law; To them that are without law, as without law, (being not without law to God, but under the law to Christ,) that I might gain them that are without law. To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. And this I do for the gospel's sake, that I might be partaker thereof with you.” (1Corinthians 9: 11-23) His opponents who apparently depended on the local congregation for support, challenged his preaching with a different (GK. Heteros) gospel. The Bible says: “ I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:” (Galatians 1:6) Paul responded vehemently, accusing them of distorting the gospel for their own profit and defending his own apostleship. The Bible says: “Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:” (2 Corinthians 10:1)
His message “my gospel” the Bible says: “In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.” (Romans 2:16) Paul’s message was based on the Old Testament in which the gospel was promised before hand in the Holy Scriptures the Bible says: “Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)” (Romans 1: 1-2) The Bible also says: “And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!” (Romans 10:15) Also written is: “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!” (Isaiah 52:7) We should also take a look at: “ The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,” (Luke 4:18) Which Christ Jesus applies Isaiah 61:1 which reads: “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;” , to himself.
The Bible says: “Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.” (Galatians 1:7) Paul contrasts the gospel of the Judaizers with anther gospel. Paul felt the Judahaized gospel denied salvation as a free gift and was thus “contrary” to the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible says: “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8-9) This “other gospel” perhaps represented by Peter’s message to the uncircumcised was unlike Paul’s own in that it preached circumcision for the Jewish Christians. The Bible says: “But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;” (Galatians 2:7) Obedience to the Jewish law for which Peter was ministering the best the reading of the RSV (“not that there is another gospel”) and the NIV (“which is really no gospel at all”) best represent Paul’s position salvation that was not completely by grace was no salvation of all.
The aged Peter makes a rather cryptic statement that the gospel was preached to the “dead” that they might live “in spirit and not be judge like those who continue to disobey God’s gospel of sound moral living.” The Bible say: “For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?” (1Peter 4: 6, 17) Similarly, the elderly John relates his positive message of love to an impending judgment when he records the angel’s eternal gospel of the fear or reverence of God. The Bible says: “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,” (Revelation 14:6)
Now we see through out the entire Bible many scriptures tells the power of the witness through Our Lord and Savior. To further grasp the reality of the world of God we must study as well as come together with God’s people. Within our studying of the word it gives us excess to empower ourselves through Jesus Christ to give utterance of the word of God to those which are lost. Within that we receive utterance of our believing God’s word to be true not only on paper but in our hearts and lives for which brings another into the flock. God manifest Himself in our heart which produces His love in our action as well bring the “good news” death, burial, resurrection, of Our Lord of purity of spirit to deliver bond breaking hold that sin have on the lost. The “good news” of God’s endless mercy of grace for each person to receive him and have everlasting life Praise God!
Also we see with the scriptures ministering to us within this entire section that God’s word will most prophetically teaches us the most powerful expression of the written word. The “Good News” is the most explosive thing you could give anyone that is in the world today tomorrow at anytime. Some of us have heard that there is a place for the word of the Lord and I believe that as well and for me the place is everywhere and anytime. You see if offering life I do not anyone that is dieing and no they are dieing would rather for you to get them to a certain spot in order to give them life. I truly believe that those that have passed if they knew that you had the power to give them life as you were transporting them to a certain spot and you with held because you was not at the right spot I believe a many transporters would be totally armed at all time. If you let some one love one die and you had the power to help them and did not because you was not on 6th and Grant and they died on 5th and Grant I believe you would most defiantly take precautions to protect your self because you have the power of life and death and you are playing God.
This story is particularly important because this is exactly what we are doing in two different aspects as we go along in our spiritual walk. I want you to know I truly understand that everyone is not going to receive the word of God nor even want to hear the word of God at know time. How we can even get to walk pass a person we care about and not even offer the good news because of what this person might think or what this person might say. God has not given us the precious to hide from the world nor is it something that everyone will want. The Bible says: “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish: To the one we are the savour of death unto death; and to the other the savour of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things? For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God: but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God speak we in Christ.” (2 Corinthians 2:14-17) In that we learn that our presence not only to God is acceptable as we speak the gospel but to others we are the smell of death the deliver of the self conscience of there wrong doing as well as there separation of what is right and what is wrong. This is the receptive of the “good news” but this is not s deterring notion that we should not spread it.
This particular section gives us the understanding on what exactly we are to spread. The problem comes in when we try to spread church doctrine in place of God’s revelation of the good news unto man. We must understand that the blessing is in what we are spreading for the glorification of God because if we are spreading His word we are not promoting our church but glorifying God and not ourselves or are pastor. This is the reason for which I was inspired to write this particular section the way I did. I was compel to bring together a lot of scripture to reveal the revelation unto you for which there would be no confusion on what we are to spread. Many times there are people that have turned there back to God because of the constant bombarding of the judgment teaching of what is right and what is wrong that they are doing. Instead if we come to them with the good news of the death and the burial and the resurrection of Christ the saving power of the grace of God then are witness will be a righteous one. If we try to operate outside of that particular area that has be ordained by God to bear witness to then we are trying to judge as well as condemn and our witness will not be effective. I want you to be empowered by the witness you have for the Savior but in order to that we must understand fully what is the power. So our next section will talk about the exact nature of power. So let us go forth and continue our revelation of God for our testimony for the witness of God.
